Estuary

Estuary prices $0.50 per GB moved on a single meter, plus connector instance fees: $100 / month each for the first six instances, $50 / month each beyond that, prorated. An instance is one connection to a source or a destination, so both ends of a pipeline count. Crucially, CDC and streaming cost the same as batch, which makes Estuary the cheapest managed answer for sub-minute Postgres CDC at mid-market scale.source - pulled 2026-09-16

Pricing model

Consumption: $0.50/GB moved + connector instances at $100/mo each for the first six, $50/mo each after (sources and destinations both count); CDC and streaming priced the same as batch.

Pricing in detail

The $/GB meter is symmetric: a streaming workload moving 250GB / month is billed identically to a batch workload moving 250GB / month. There is no streaming premium, which is unusual in the category.

Budget the instance fees from the pipeline shape, not the source count: one Postgres source feeding one warehouse is two instances ($200 / month), and each added source or destination is another instance.

The free tier covers up to 10GB / month and two connector instances - enough to run a real proof-of-concept on a small Postgres source. BYOC (bring your own cloud) is available on Enterprise for compliance-driven deployments.

When to pick Estuary

Pick Estuary when the workload is CDC-heavy, streaming-shaped, or both. The single $/GB rate makes forecasting straightforward and avoids the wide-vs-narrow distortion of MAR or event pricing, and batch pipelines run at the same rates.

Avoid Estuary when the source mix is mostly long-tail SaaS - the catalogue is narrower than Fivetran or Airbyte.

Mid-market estimate

For a 50M-MAR mid-market profile, the published rate produces an estimated subscription line of $625/mo. 5 connector instances + ~250GB CDC throughput at published $/GB.source - pulled 2026-09-16Run the full TCO at /tco-calculator.
