Pricing in detail
The MAR meter counts each row identified by primary key that changed within the calendar month. An UPDATE counts once per month no matter how many times that row mutates; an INSERT counts once; a DELETE counts once. Wide tables therefore do not cost more than narrow tables at the same row cardinality.
The Free Plan v2 covers 500K MAR per month across as many connections as desired. Each standard connection also adds a $5 base monthly fee at Standard tier. Connector counts compound: ten connectors at light usage still incur ten base fees.
Post-merger (1 June 2026, dbt Labs), the dbt Cloud Team tier price held at $100 / seat / month and Activations bundles former Census functionality. Buyers signing new Enterprise contracts should ask for the combined SKU pricing rather than the legacy line items.
When to pick Fivetran
Pick Fivetran when SaaS-source breadth matters more than $/M rate: the connector library remains the broadest in the category, and connector freshness is the highest in the segment. The premium tier covers log-based CDC for major databases; teams without that requirement should price Standard.
Avoid Fivetran when MAR spikes are unpredictable (event-stream sources). Hevo's event pricing or Estuary's $/GB are more forecastable in those cases.
