Salesforce as a pipeline source

Salesforce is the most common SaaS source in mid-market data stacks. Bulk API 2.0 is the modern interface; REST polling is a fallback that does not scale. Confirm Bulk API 2.0 support before signing - vendor marketing sometimes glosses over which API the connector actually uses.source - pulled 2026-06-21

Salesforce in detail

Salesforce Change Data Capture (the platform feature, not the pipeline concept) provides real-time events for tracked objects. Estuary and Fivetran Premium consume it natively; Airbyte and Stitch fall back to polling.

For reverse-ETL back into Salesforce, both Census and Hightouch handle Salesforce-specific concerns (record types, validation rules, external IDs) correctly. Direct SOQL writes via Airbyte are not the right path.
